The 2017 edition sees the fastest dinghies on the planet come to Cork for three days of intense racing on courses throughout the harbour.
Returning to Cork Dinghy Fest are the ever strong and growing RS fleet of RS 400’s, 200’s and Feva’s. The feature event this year is the RS 200 National Championships and having seen a surge in popularity in Cork this Winter, over 30 boats are expected.
“It’s great we’ve been able to attract the Foiling Moth dinghies this year. With the event taking place days after the America’s Cup is decided, we’ll be emulating the spectator friendly racing with an arena style race course designed to maximise the safety and excitement of both sailors and spectators. Coloured buoys will cordon off the race course allowing on-lookers get within touching distance of the new breed of speed machines. With Moths, 49ers and 29ers all confined to one race track, Race Officer Anthony O’Leary will have his hands full” announced Alex Barry – Director of Racing
